These compositions exist in the shadowed margins of the main album — pieces that emerged from the same creative period and are cut from the same cloth. Over the course of the year, I created so many tracks that it became impossible to limit the release to a mere eight or so. I had long considered issuing a two-disc album but remained hesitant. When assembling the original eight tracks for the CD, however, the allotted time was exceeded by more than twelve minutes. The release ultimately stretched well beyond the eighty-minute threshold, and I concluded that the only viable path was to divide the material into a two-disc set.
